From November to June, the rookery on Bundaberg’s Mon Repos beach turns into a turtle maternity ward. Nocturnal visitors have a front row seat to nature in all its glory as tiny turtle hatchlings break loose of their shells and bubble up through to the sand looking for the ocean. Knowledgeable Park Rangers are on hand to provide insights and to answer all your turtle questions. A visit here is made all the more special with the knowledge that generations of turtles have relied on this place for survival.
